Thanksgiving in Colorado

This year My sister Becca hosted Thanksgiving in Colorado Springs this year. My parents, grandpa, my brother Chris and his wife Lanie, and us all went and stayed. We had a fabulous time! Becca and Erin always go way out of their way to make sure we are all comfortable and have fun. We went to the Denver Aquarium, Garden of the gods, hung out, played games, went to a movie, and the guys went paintballing... oh and there was so much delicious food!

Jackson turns 2!

Well I can hardly believe I have a two year old... Jackson is growing leaps and bounds. He is full of energy and has so much life! He has such a funny sense of humor and me and him are always cracking each other up. I absolutly love being able to spend all day with him and am so grateful that I have a job where I can take him with me (Thanks to Mindy!). These are some of his pictures from one of his birthday parties. We had a BYU party (the night of the U of U vs. BYU game). The same night we had a party for Caden, Jackson's cousin who is a week older. The two boys loved fighting over the same presents even though they got all of the same things...

Caden already blew out his candles and is trying to help Jackson blow his out. Jackson could not blow them out, due to the fact that he sticks his bottom lip out too far and just blowsx air straight up...

Thank you to everyone who made it a very happy birthday!

Apple Addict

So Jackson LOVES apples... we cannot go through the grocery store without him crying for one to eat right then. Recently Grandpa Monty brought us a whole box of apples and Jackson has loved being able to eat them whenever he wants. This is the result of his feast the other night. I had forgotten he was eating one and when I entered the room after 30 minutes this is what I found...

He had eaten the whole butt of the apple and was headed for the rest of the core... too funny!

HI-HO HI-HO it's off to work we go...

We went to visit grandpa at his job site. This is the re-model he is doing at Lanie's parents house. Jackson was in total heaven and could have stayed ALL day.

Grandpa left Jack's mark on the wall.

Uncle Chris using the Jumping Jack (is that a sign of what Jack's supposed to be when he grows up?)

Helping Grandpa shovel up all the dirt and mud

Driving the trachoe. He loved to look at it but didn't like being in it too much.

When Kevin turned it on Jackson kept saying "mom, mom, mom, mom...." and grabbed Kevin's hand and put it on the stop button.

He liked it much better from down here.

Picking out the perfect pumpkins

We went to pick out the perfect pumpkins at the Vineyard Gardens Pumpkin Patch. Jackson loves loves loves pumpkins and points them out and carries them around everywhere we go. His nickname has even been "pumpkin" or "pumpkin head" since he was little.

He was so excited to put them in our wagon and push them around.

Here comes THE TERRIBLE TWO'S

So yesterday we took Jackson to a pumpkin patch to get some pumpkins and decided to do the corn maze that they had. Jackson is just discovering his free agency and has been exercising it daily. While walking through the corn maze he decided paths aren't for him- so he would randomly take off into the corn fields and we would chase after him weaving in and out of corn rows and drag him back to the path kicking and screaming. Enjoy the Show!

Welcome to our new little home! This is our living room. The back wall was a really old yucky looking wood paneling that we painted white like beadboard. With the help of Kevin's dad Monty we also took down all the old wallpaper and re-painted everywhere. I love it down here now, I think its perfect. I was so stupid and didn't take before pictures but the difference is quite impressive.

This is jackson's bedroom carpet- it is super long shag and it smells like its 50 years old, oh wait- it is!!!

I don't love Jackson's furniture set up but this is how I have it set up for right now.

Our room. Its pretty good, the carpet in this room is by far the best in the whole apartment, its a light beigeish color.

This is our entertainment center since the other one was WAY too big for this room. We got it for $99- KMart special! A big thanks to Kristi for helping me put it togethar into the wee small hours of the morning. Thanks for everyone for helping us move and to my great sister-in-laws for helping me unpack! Thank you so much guys!

Welcome Home Casey!

Welcome Home Elder Colyar! Kevin's little brother got home from his mission a few weekends ago. He served in Melbourne Australia. He even got to go an serve in Tasmania where my mom is from and meet tons of my family.

Jackson with his Grandpa Monty at the airport

When Casey left for his mission I was very pregnant with Jackson. So he came home and met 3 new nephews. We made shirts for all the kids that said "Hello My Name is... (their name)" to introduce him to the new family members.

Blake, Savannah, and Jackson

Meeting his Uncle for the first time. No tears- that's a good sign.

How fun to have all of the family together again.

Colyar Family Christmas Gift Exchange 2008

Okay, so this only really applies to our family (and anyone else who wants to give us a present!). On the way home from the airport this weekend after picking up Casey (Kev's little bro) from getting off his mission- Me and jessica figured out who has who this year! So I want to write it down so it doesn't get all confusing again...

Craig and Kristi have Chad and Kirsti
Chad and Kirsti have Danny and Jess
Danny and Jess have Kev and Steph
Kevin and Steph have Casey
Casey has Craig and Kristi

As for the grandkids- do we still want to get each kid a present this year? Or is it getting to be too many now? Let me know if the list doesn't seem right to you guys! I'm pretty sure it is though...

Utah State Fair 2008

I love the fair! I haven't missed one in many years. I love going and seeing all of the animals, walking through the vendor booths, seeing the photography exhibit, and eating all the really unhealthy food. This year was so much fun because Jackson is totally into animals and mooing and baaahing, and oinking, plus we had lots of fun family time!

This is the bunny exhibit, if they didn't want $85 for a baby I think I would have bought 1 or 2- or 6 or 7...

Chris and Lanie having some Funnel cake...mmm... Me and Kevin opted to try the deep fried snickers (heavenly) and the deep fried oreos (disappointing)

Aysa and Caden ( My niece and nephew)

two wild packie sucking animals...

Me and Aysa- This is my best pig snorting face.

Same attractive face from me- Brinlee (my other darling niece) was supposed to be making a lamb face, not a cute girl face!!!

Getting up close and personal with the sheep

Jackson being kissed by "ma" isn't his dinosaur hat cute?!

Caden the drooling cowboy
