Halloween 2010

Halloween this year was on a sunday so we celebrated it on saturday the 30th. Kevin had a side job he worked that day so me and Jackson tackled pumpkin carving by ourselves. He loved it and was a lot of fun to do it with.

washing and drying
Making sure his hand is completely covered up from the "pumpkin goo."

Once I convinced him to put his hand inside and not be worried about the goo he loved scooping seeds out.

The silly face pumpkin

Visiting with the neighbors. Jackson and Paisley.

Batman posing with his pumpkins. Ready for trick-or-treating.

Trick or treating at great grandma's.

His candy from great grandma. He was a little disappointed to only get one piece...

Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Mont. He got a big huge handful from them and was much happier. Jackson and Grandpa Mont trick-or-treated their cul-de-sac and got poured on in a flash flood of rain but came back with some good treats!

At Grandma Dianne and Grandpa Mel Ross house. Grandpa and Maddy came with us to trick-or-treat at their townhomes.... FREEZING COLD!

Trick or treating in action. He was super persistant and kept taking extra candy from peoples bowls.

Posing with our pumpkins

Happy Halloween!

Kevin's 28th Birthday

I love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. You get to feed giraffes!!! They are my favorite animal. I've been with Jackson a few times but Kevin hasn't ever been so for his birthday we decided to do the zoo!

Gabe feeding the giraffes, when he wasn't feeding them fast enough he ended up being licked across the head, boy was he surprised!

Their tongues are 15 inches long!!!

They let us pet them as long as we gave them crackers after.

There are so many giraffes at this zoo including two babies.

Jackson was a tad bit hesitant...

Isn't this baby so stinking cute!

Poor cold little meerkats!

wild roaming deer all over the place

I have NEVER seen lions be so active in person. At our zoo they just lay there sleeping. These one's were growling and playing.

One female sitting on top of the other one....

The bottom one gets sick of being underneath so she stands up......

the bottom one walked around to the other side and sat right on top of the one that was just sitting on her!!! So funny!

Then the females started to pester the male lion, so he growled and whacked a few of them.

and as one walked by he grabbed her and bit her on the leg!

So Fierce!!!!

Look at that face! I swear they were putting on quite the show for us!

Kangaroo or maybe a wallaby.... Not sure which, yes I know I am half Australian and should know- but I don't.

Poor Jackson.... After his first throwing up in the car event a few days earlier he got his first nose bleed... It started bleeding super heavy earlier that morning all over his brand new clothes and all over Becca's white carpet... it was so heavy that as were trying to help him I notice a puddle on the floor of my babies blood so I loose it and go into full blown shock! So basically Becca and Kevin handled the bloody nose while I had my head between my knees (not easy to do when you are pregnant). The nose bleed had a slight relapse during the day- so in went the tissue plug.

The leopard was pacing and staring down the kids. Kevin was doing his best to harass him.

Because of the weather and time of day all the animals were SUPER active.

The bears were fighting so Jackson would yell at them to stop it and they would! As soon as he walked away they would start fighting again so Jackson would run back and yell at them to knock it off and they would! It was so funny.

We got to see the mountain lion feeding, which was awesome. They knew it was feeding time so they were growling and running around.

Posing with a wild buck

The gorillas were throwing up and eating it... nasty. The baby gorilla was so funny though and was swinging on his swings right into the adults driving them nuts. They were grabbing him by the leg and yanking him off the ropes. Then all the adults would move to the opposite end and he'd run over and swing into them again! Quite obnoxious for them to be locked up with that kid all the time!

One spoiled birthday boy.......
Becca treated us to dinner at a very delicious Teppenyaki style restaurant.

The Jensen's (minus Erin who was in Utah for a trial)

Lucky for Kevin, Becca like's Sushi too! They ordered a few rolls and Kevin was in heaven...

The kid's favorite- the onion volcano.

After dinner we got a Cold Stone Oreo ice cream cake and went home. Kevin had such a great birthday.

Happy Birthday Kevin! I love you so much- you deserved such a great weekend!
