First NFL Game!

When we decided to go to Becca's house for the week it ended up that Kevin's 28th birthday would be while we were there... Kevin has ALWAYS dreamed of going to an NFL game. He didn't really care what team- he just wanted to go. His favorite team has been the Minnesota Vikings for a really long time so it is definitely still on his list to go to one of their games... But since we were going to be in the Denver area, the Broncos were playing, and it was his birthday I decided to find some tickets on eBay.

We got a great deal on them and had really good seats in a private section with private bathrooms (thank goodness, the line for the other ones were like 40 women long).

SOOOO happy!

Leaving Becca's house all set for the game! The whole hour drive to Denver there were cars with bronco flags and tons of people all headed to the game! Downtown Denver the freeway stopped and lanes started shutting down for a huge accident. All of a sudden a line of police escorts came speeding by followed by two huge buses full of the NY Jets players trying to rush through the traffic to the stadium. The excitement started there for us....

We got to the stadium super early, ate lunch at burger king (Stupidly using the last of our cash...) and had fun wandering around in all the Bronco gameday madness...

Me and "baby girl" in front of Invesco Field at Mile High... It was a really warm day!

Looking out on a sea of Orange. Apparently it was "Orange Sunday" for the game.

I wish I had taken more pictures of all the tailgaters, some of these people seriously LIVE for gameday. There were people with motorhomes all painted up in broncos colors parked with all their tents and bbq's all set up. It must take so long to set everything up and take it all down. It was pretty fun to see all the hype before the game, it got me really excited to be there with Kevin for the first time.

Taking it all in...

The stadium holds 78,000 people! It was massive!!!!! The Broncos are one of only two teams in the NFL that have season ticket holders from all 50 states! They are a big group of loyal fans. To get season tickets you have to be on a waiting list for 5-10 years... crazy. At one point in the game they announced that there were 2,000 no shows in the audience that day and on que the whole crowd booo-ed, it was pretty funny.

The NY Jets warming up- again everyone boo-ed when they came on the field.

The Bronco's coming out to warm up, everyone cheered.

They had three parachuters drop in on the stadium

Setting up the tunnel for the players.

Getting packed!

It was breast cancer awareness month, so lots of pink on the field.

It ended up being a really close game and came down to the last minute on the field before the Bronco's lost 20 to 24.

What a fun experience for us to be able to do! Maybe next time we'll do a Vikings game!
