Jackson's Dream

So yesterday morning Jackson woke up around 8:15 crying. Jackson never wakes up crying, usually he wakes up bouncing or meowing or something, so anyway, Kevin went in and got him and asked what was wrong and he was saying something about grandma... So we asked him to tell us what was making him cry and this is what he said:

"Daddy ate Grandma's brown pretzels!"

So at this point we figure out he had a bad dream, so we started asking questions, trying to not die laughing...

(Me) "Daddy ate Grandma's pretzels?"

(Jack) "Yeah... (still sobbing) and it made her so sad!" (more sobbing)

(Me) "Oh sweetie we can get Grandma new pretzels"

(Jack) (relieved sob) "ok, and Jackson will make her so happy"

At this point I was dying laughing. I have always wondered what he dreams about... now I know,

He dreams about Kevin stealing everyone's food!

Gosh, I didn't know I was married to Yogi bear! Watch your picnic baskets everyone!!!

San Francisco

So The Colyars decided they haven't had enough time in the car lately... So we decided to head to San Francisco for a friends wedding. We drove out with our friends Amber and Dave and had so much fun! They were so much fun to travel with and Jackson just loved them and cried when we left their house at the end of the trip.

This is us at the Sacramento temple. Amber served her mission here, so it was fun to re-visit places with her.
Okay, so San Francisco was so beautiful and so much like Seattle that it made me totally homesick...

Alcatraz- We took a boat out to the island and did a tour.

The Alcatraz jail cell- and yes, Jackson is sitting on the potty... and yes he wouldn't get off of it when I told him to...

The cell where one of the most famous prison escapes took place. They chipped all the concrete out with spoons!!! That is dedication.

Solitary confinement- Jackson LOVED it in there! It is a depressing little concrete room where they shut people in for 6 or 7 days in PITCH blackness with a hole in the corner for a toilet... and yes Jackson honestly wouldn't leave this room! He kept hanging on the bars yelling "Let me outta here!"

The island was actually stunning with incredible views of the bay area! I want to live there!

Alcatraz was super cool to tour, it was really educational and was very interesting. I highly recommend it.

Saturday morning we went to My friend Adrienne's wedding in the Oakland temple. It has the most incredible views.

From the roof terrace at the temple

What a cutie this kid is!

Our little group. Kevin, Jackson, Amber, and Dave. Kevin forgot to take other socks and shoes after the temple to go sight-seeing... someone looked like a Chinese tourist all day...

Our little family at the Winchester Mystery Mansion. For anyone who hasn't heard of this place, I'll explain...

Sarah Winchester was the heir to the Winchester rifle fortune. She was left with loads of money after her husband and daughter died. She went to a psychic to find out why her family had all been taken from her and the psychic told her that it was all the spirits who had been killed by the hand of the Winchester rifle that had come back to haunt them and they would surely kill her too unless she moved to California and kept building a house to confuse the spirits.

So Sarah Winchester kept construction crews building on the house for 33 years 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The Result? A crazy maze of rooms and doors and secret passages. Some rooms were remodeled 160 times!

This stairway was in an earlier picture a few up from here in the post. This staircase has 44 2-inch stairs, and 7 complete turns, all to go up 9 feet! It was so funny to walk up this crazy little stairway.

The house was STUNNING! She had too much money to spend and had wonderful taste. All the windows done in stained glass were all from Tiffanys. The windows and doors in this room are worth 2.25 million dollars.

Pictures don't do it justice, they were so beautiful. It was such a fun tour. I'm so glad we did it!

Us at the hotel

At Adriennes wedding reception at the Hiller Aviation Museum.

She was a beautiful bride and had such a nice reception, with beautiful flowers and delicious food. I am so happy for her and Rob and hope they had a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii... I wish we had been invited to that part too... ;)
I loved our trip and hope to go back sometime and see chinatown... that was one of the few things we didn't get to see...
